Kurs: Studije britanske kulture (osn.) U okviru predmeta: Studije britanske kulture Predavači dr Svetlana Stojić, docent u penziji dr Vera Ošmjanski, docent izborni kurs Broj bodova: 3.00 Sadržaj kursa: multidisciplinarno proučavanje kulture savremene britanije od kraja Drugog svetskog rata do danas. U ovom kontekstu pojam kulture definiše se u najširem smislu kao «celokupan način života jednog naroda». Cilj izučavanja kursa: upoznavanje specifičnog kulturnog konteksta neophodnog ne samo za upotrebu jezika i izgrađivanje komunikativne kompetencije, već i za razvoj istraživačkih i kritičkih sposobnosti studenata, posebno na planu interdisciplinarnih i komparativnih proučavanj App.preduslovi_za_polaganje: Nastavu mogu pohađati svi studenti Filozofskog fakulteta koji su nakon IV semestra položili ispite iz Engleskog jezika 1 i Engleskog jezika 2 sa najmanjom ocenom osam (8). Oblici nastave:
interaktivna predavanja na engleskom jeziku uz prateći vizuelni materijal, prezentacije studenata i diskusije Plan kursa: 1. nedelja predavanje - Introduction Theoretical analyses of culture, cultural studies, and British cultural studies. 2. nedelja predavanje - Social and Cultural Context a brief historical, demographic and political survey. 3. nedelja predavanje - Myths and legends definitions of the two concepts; changing interpretations e.g. Stonehenge. Arthurian legends. Lady Godiva. Boadicea (Boudicca). 4. nedelja predavanje - Customs and tradition invented and reinvented customs and traditions e.g. Christmas. 5. nedelja predavanje - Social classes the myth of classless society; criteria for class assessment; description of the main social classes; underclass and super class; social mobility; meritocracy; cultural nuances based on class. 6. nedelja predavanje - Family and lifestyle statistics of the structure of modern family; different classes different lifestyles. 7. nedelja predavanje - A sociolinguistic picture of Great Britain multilingualism; geographical and social variation of English; the notions of standard English, dialect, sociolect, accent. 8. nedelja predavanje - Gender women and employment; equal opportunities legislation; crimes against women; the ‘crisis of masculinity’. 9. nedelja predavanje - Essay writing essay types; stages of writing an essay; practice for the exam essay, revision of topics. 10. nedelja predavanje - Mass media the press in Britain; circulation of national daily papers; ownership; censorship. 11. nedelja predavanje - British cinema ganres in post-war British cinema: comedies, crime thrillers, "Swinging London", social problem, independent-experimental, heritage, hybrids, biopics. 12. nedelja predavanje - Britain in Film regional depictions; ethnicity and identity. 13. nedelja predavanje - Contemporary Visual Arts e.g. constructivism (Ben Nicholson, Victor Pasmor), abstract impressionism (William Scot, Roger Hilton, Alan Davie). 14. nedelja predavanje - Youth cultures/subcultures definition of subcultures; the birth of a teenager; from rebellion to complacence. 15. nedelja predavanje - Revision of topics and discussion groups Revision of topics and discussion groups
