Course objectives: Training students for understanding the interdependence of economical development and education.

Course description: Theoretical course: The concept and the subject of economics of education, Economics of education as an economical discipline, Economics of education as an educational discipline. Economical understanding of education, Economical globalization and education. Education as a consumption, investment and social profit, Human, social and cultural fund as an economical and an educational phenomenon, Social economical development and education, Economical effects of education, Skills building as an economical problem, Education and work productivity. Practical course: Skills level growth and economical growth, Investing in education and the quality and effects of education, Financing education, Equality and fairness in financing education, Profit profile and education, Profit profile by age, Economical effects of investing in education of different age and educational categories, Economical effects of formal and non-formal education, Economical effects of investing in different educational levels, Economical effects of general and vocational education.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of the programme students will be able to understand: - the determination of education by economical context – the influence of education on economical growth and development on global, national and local level; - the models and mechanisms of financing education
