Course objectives: Training students for: critical review of different theoretical orientations and methodological approaches in the concepts of research of education for family life, individual research and designing of programme for the quality of family life improvement.

Course description: Theoretical course: The concept and the nature of family life education; Development of family life education; Aspects of family life as an area of educational intervention (marriage and intimate relations, sexuality, parenthood, family resource management, communication and problem solving, environment); Programmes for different aspects of family life: development, implementation, evaluation; The role of values, ethnicity, religion and gender susceptibility in creating educational programmes for family life; Professionalization and preparation of programme implementers: educational paradigms – behavioural, personalistic, research paradigm and eclectic approach. Practical course: Critical and comparative analysis of different educational programme models for family life.

Learning Outcomes: Student is familiar with the modern trends of family life research and educational programmes for family; knows how to research the possibilities of education as a support to different aspects of family life, to conduct procedures of evaluation of goals, contents and results of educational programmes for family.
