Other Activities
The organization of the seminar entitled Anthropological Agora is a very important activity carried out by the Institute (i.e. the Center at the time of starting the seminar). The seminar began during the 2008/09 Summer Term, and its participants include a range of colleagues, professionals working in the field of ethnological and anthropological research or other humanistic sciences as their basic professional activities and those within their respective disciplines. The goal of the seminar implies the transferring of the knowledge of how to conceptualize, organize and conduct research, as well the methodology of providing scientific information and explanations based on major outcomes such as monographs, doctoral and master’s dissertations, all this through giving lectures to students of all levels of study and the broader public with an interest in it.
Together with with the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology, the Institute (at that time the Center) has organized several scientific conferences, namely Our World, the Other Worlds; Anthropology, Science Fiction and Cultural Identities; A Culture of Identity; Anthropology, Religions and Alternative Religions; Essays on the Yugoslav Cultural Heritage – The Frameworks for Constructing the Yugoslav Cultural Heritage; The Anthropology of Music, and other.
