Course objectives: Getting students ready to follow core subjects. The students will learn how to do field research, documentation and collecting samples for physical and chemical analysis.

Course description: During the two semesters, the students will receive basic methodological knowledge necessary for archaeological excavations. The course covers basic terminology, techniques of archaeological prospection, techniques, methods and documentation used in archaeological excavations, dating techniques and the analysis of finds.

Learning Outcomes: Attendance, essay and written examination.
