Course objectives:

Course description: Changes in territorial identity of both individuals’ and collectives’ are examined regarding the global-local dichotomy. The main trends in shifting identity meaning and significance of various territorial scales are reviewed and related to the emerging concepts of identity of island vs. multi-scaled loyalty, old and new localism, place attachment and territorial capital, glocalized identity. Relevant research conducted in Serbia are review and compared to research results obtained in other contexts. The issue of glocalized identity is analyzed from the point of territorial cohesion strategy in EU, as well as from social movement’s perspective.
