Pre-requisites: Mastering of the content of introductory general sociological courses like Theories and methods of society research or Sociology of knowledge 1. Knowledge of foreign languages and internet use is needed.

Course objectives: Encouraging students to explore the processes and social conditions of reproduction of cognition process and knowledge from the perspective of different theoretical and methodological standpoints in the electronically supported environment.

Course description: Theoretical classes introduce students to basic concepts, theories and methods of analysis of social conditions of genesis and changes in cognitive content and function of human common sense, religious, philosophical, artistic, scientific and other beliefs and knowledge in the context of the genesis and the structural change of subject and object of cognition. Practical education envelops through participation in discussions on electronic forums, in compiling dictionaries. Through writing and debating research seminar papers on a selected topic, students acquire capacity to illuminate the basic concepts of cognition process and knowledge, truth, ideology, and the long-running dispute about the universality / relativity, objectivity / subjectivity, ideality / materiality of cognition and knowledge, primarily from the perspective of modern representatives of the basic theoretical and methodological approaches.

Learning Outcomes: Develop critical insights and research tools for analysis and a virtual debate about the problems of production, identification, accumulation, dissemination and use of knowledge in the social context of social power relations, interests and values
