Functional Analysis in Sociology

Course objectives: To gain the ability to use & apply functional analysis in studying social phenomena

Course description: Students will learn the steps in studying causal relationships in society, types of explanations- causal, probability explanation, functional and teleological explanations; the relationship between theory and research in applying functional analysis, paradigms of applying functional analysis.
