The most recent endeavor of the Institute is a seminar entitled Anthropological Agora. The seminar began during the 2008/09 summer term. Its purpose is to feature the participants that form a range of professionals engaged in ethnological and anthropological research who present their own experience in designing, organizing and implementing research and who discuss methodology deployed to provide further scientific exploration and explanation that resulted, or will result in academic works such as masters or doctoral theses, and scientific monographs.

In December 2009, together with the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology, the Institute organized a conference called Our World, Other Worlds: Anthropology, Science Fiction and Cultural Identity, and in November 2010 a conference called The Culture of Identity. Anthropology, Religions and Alternative Religions.
