Course objectives: Understanding the basic concepts regarding educational standards and competencies, different models of external and internal monitoring of student performance, their assets and limitations, as well as the use of results for development of education policy.

Course description: Outcome (student performance) based education, Concept of educational standards, Standards of educational performance, Educational competencies and contents, National student performance assessment, International student performance assessment (PISA and TIMSS), National exams, Using results of national and international assessment in educational development, Teachers’ grading of students.

Learning Outcomes: Understanding the basic concepts in the field of educational standards and life competencies of children and youth, recognition of different models of external and internal monitoring of student performance, understanding their role in the development of education policy.
