Course objectives: Study of basic adult education as a social and scientific phenomenon, its social, political, economic and cultural dimensions, and the methodical character of literacy and development of key competences of adults.

Course description: Theoretical course: - Basic adult education as a social and scientific phenomenon - philosophical, social, economic, political and cultural dimensions; - The concepts of literacy; - Defining key competences; - International experiences in adult literacy and the development of key competences; - Methodical characteristics of adult literacy and acquisition of key competences; - A teacher in elementary adult education. Practical course: - Positioning basic adult education in the education system; - Design of systemic solutions to the problem of illiteracy; - Analysis of organization, program orientation and methodical characteristics of basic adult education and development of key competences; - Analysis of the results of professional visits to literacy classes and development of key competences (focus on differentiated problems: teacher competence, organization adequacy, program functionality ...); - Research on current problems in the field of literacy and development of key competences.

Learning Outcomes: - Understands the development of the literacy concept in different cultures; - Understands the methodical characteristics of literacy and the acquisition of key competences; - Research and create literacy models; - Advises all the entities involved in this activity.
