Course objectives: Acquiring a detailed insight into theoretical, research and practical issues, establishment and evaluation of personnel selection and assessment procedure and development of professional sensitivity essential for good practice.

Course description: Psychology of selection and assessment; Criterion in personnel selection and assessment; Selection procedure, candidate assessment techniques; Predictor reliability and validity; Selection outcomes; Practical aspects of selection research; Theory and practice of job performance appraisal; Personnel assessment in the context of human resource management; Design and implementation of job performance appraisal; Selection and assessment from the perspective of candidates and personnel; Selection and assessment in European and other countries; Ethical issues in personnel selection and assessment; Discrimination against candidates and personnel; Evaluation and improvement of selection and assessment. Job analysis; Person specification; Design of recruitment project; Attracting candidates ; Interview, Integrating findings and decision-making; Design of assessment; Analysis of cases of discrimination; Review of selection and assessment in European and other countries – presentations; Designing research on a problem from the field of selection and assessment.

Learning Outcomes: Students can perform job analysis, design and evaluate procedures of recruitment, selection and assessment of personnel and are capable of performing these tasks on an elementary level.
