Pre-requisites: General and special psychopathology, Fundamentals of psychotherapy and counseling, theories and practice of psychotherapy and counseling, psychological counseling skills.

Course objectives: Learning about multiple ways for access to the client's problems from the perspective of CBT, learning about the principles and specific applications of cognitive behavior therapy in dealing with different categories of psychological problems and disorders.

Course description: The course provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the current trends in contemporary cognitive-behavioral theory, practice and research. Topics: a. theoretical assumptions of the Rational emotive behavior therapy, cognitive therapies, problem solving therapies, self-regulation therapies, b. therapeutic method - the case conceptualization, assessment methods, the therapeutic process, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral techniques to modify dysfunctional cognitions, feelings and behaviors, c. application of cognitive-behavioral therapy on a wide range of dysfunctional emotions and behavior (outside the area of serious psychological disorders), d. research of processes and outcomes, current issues and future directions in cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Learning Outcomes: Increasing the knowledge about theory and method of CBT, development of capabilities for conceptualizing cases, operationalization of the problem and usage of a wide range of cognitive, behavioral and emotional-imaginative CBT procedures.
