Pre-requisites: Cognitive psychology, Developmental psychology, Psychology of individual differences, Personality psychology, Psychometrics, Psychology of learning, Psychology of memory and thinking

Course objectives: Introducing students to the basic concepts, leading theories and major research findings in the field of human intelligence and creativity. Encouraging students to analyze and compare different perspectives on intelligence and creativity, and scrutinize the most controversial concepts in the field (IQ, nonacademic intelligences, etc.)

Course description: 1. Conceptions of intelligence: an overview of implicit and explicit theories 2. Psychometric perspective: a. the structure of intelligence; b. intelligence assessment and the concept of IQ 3. Cognitivist perspective: a. cognitive correlates approach; b. cognitive components approach 4. Biological perspective 5. Contextual/System perspectives 6. New and emerging constructs in the field (EI, PI) 7. Conceptions and measurement of creativity

Learning Outcomes: Knowledge of the basic concepts, leading theories, and major research findings in the field of intelligence and creativity. Capacity to critically evaluate them and understand their scientific value, limitations, and practical implications (particularly regarding intelligence assessment).
