Course objectives: The objective of the course is to enable psychology students to successfully and appropriately communicate with individuals and groups in school context and to professionally resolve conflicts that occur in education and educational institutions.

Course description: The course covers basic concepts and skills from the field of interpersonal communication and constructive conflict management: 1. Interpersonal communication in the school context, 2. The role of personality and emotions in interpersonal communication, 3. The role of perception and listening in interpersonal communication, 4. Verbal and nonverbal communication, 5. Two types of messages and their effect on interpersonal communication, 6. Interpersonal communication and the power structure in the educational system, 7. Conflicts and interpersonal communication, 8. Interpersonal communication and the establishment of cooperative relationships

Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to apply basic communication skills (active listening, I-messages, skills of opposition and conflict management skills) and understand the importance of communication skills for establishing quality cooperative relationships.
