Course objectives: Acquisition of relevant knowledge and skills towards understanding the nature of leisure time as a phenomenon and a scientific concept for educational action in cultural development using the leisure time of children and adolescents.

Course description: Theoretical course: Leisure time as a phenomenon and a scientific concept. Educational capabilities, effects, values and activities. Leisure time education. Historical, philosophical and international dimensions of educational leisure time problem. Sport and recreation of children and adolescents. Play and creativity of children and adolescents. Educational aspects of tourism: school excursions; Educational-touristic activities in the function of development of travelling culture, staying in tourist locations, tolerance of differences; living and tourist environment; ecological-touristic education of children and adolescents. Educational aspects of leisure time in specified conditions (school, cultural institutions, family, commune, children with special needs, gender). Ambivalent character of leisure time. Practical course: Organization and evaluation of various (by contents and organizational solutions) cultural-educational activities in children’s leisure time. Leisure activities. Educational analysis of work of institutions (libraries, clubs, museums, galleries, sport and recreational centres, cultural centres, theatres, cinemas, tourist agencies, hotels etc). The use of informational-educational technologies.

Learning Outcomes: Student: educationally acts in the field of children’s and adolescents’ leisure time in school, local and wider community – Organizes, advises, evaluates cultural-educational activities, by content and organizational solutions, of children and adolescents in the field of recreation, tourism, creativity and play.
