Course objectives: Familiarization with different theoretical, research and practical approaches to social-educational work; training for the implementation of different methodological and research procedures in social-educational work.

Course description: Theoretical course: The concept and research subject of social education. The place of social education in the system of educational disciplines. Current research paradigms in social education. Different aspects of social function of educational work. Modern theories of social work. Normative-legislative, ethical and institutional-organizational frames of education in social work. Research of educational needs and development of educational programmes for particular and critical periods or situations in life. Discrepancies of declarative and real social care for children and adolescents. Prevention programmes for behaviour disorder of children and adolescents. Educational prevention of abusive behaviour in adolescents. Social-educational approaches to the problems of children and adolescents from the disrupted/incomplete families. Working with children and adolescents without parents. Working methodology of social educationalist. Practical course: Practice, seminars, discussions on the different aspects of social-educational work.

Learning Outcomes: Having thorough knowledge about different theoretical and research approaches in the field of social-educational work; individual implementation of different methodological and research procedures in this field.
