Pre-requisites: Prerequisites: The course can be attended by students of the Faculty of Philosophy who have passed English language 1 and English language 2 exams with mark 8 (eight) or higher, respectively.
Course objectives: Course objectives: To acquaint students with the main institutions, cultural heritage, and ways of life in contemporary British society.
Course description: Course content: Great Britain – a brief historical, demographic and geographical survey; images and stereotypes; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; the political system and foreign policy; issues of identity; religion; the education system; leisure and sport.
Learning Outcomes: Learning outcomes: Students will be able to gain insights into multiculturality, multinationality and multiethnicity in contemporary Britain.
