Course objectives: Deepening one's previous knowledge on poorly researched questions in the history of the Serbs under turkish rule.

Course description: Theoretical component is composed of lectures addressing major issues, frequently under-researched, in the history of the Serbs under turkish rule. With this goal in mind, the main emphasis of the course will be on economic and agricultural opportunities and relations, the re-shaping of serbian ethnic territory, influences on demographic change, both in broad geographic terms and in certain smaller territories, certain types of acculturation, the role of individuals in historical events, changes in national and social institutions and the factors affecting them(public and private). The practical component will leave room for freedom within each students particular scientific focus, including discussions on sources, the span of available literature and possible fields of research and opportunities, as well as presenting results, first through oral presentation and/or written research paper.

Learning Outcomes: Students will be gain a long-term base of knowledge for critically assessing questions in the history of the Serbs under turkish rule and be prepared for independent work in the field and writing scientific papers.
