Course objectives: To introduce students to the historical development and significance of the Roman army; the way of establishing provincial governments, the principles of defining boundaries and strategic places.

Course description: The organization of the Roman army, recruitment, armament and equipment, warfare and conquests in the central Balkans region, Roman fleet, establishment of new provinces and defining boundaries, the reconstruction of old and the building of new roads.

Learning Outcomes: Essay and written examination.
