Historical geography of serbian territories from 6th-16th century

Pre-requisites: Students in post-diploma studies should possess knowledge of the physical geography and political history of the territories on the Balkan peninsula. Regular class attendance is required as well as active participation in class, labs, and consultations.

Course objectives: Through lectures and labs students will learn to work with historical sources, to use them for the purposes of scientific historiography, and learn methods of historical-geographical research.

Course description: This course is comprised of looking at issues chronologically and by issue, and will examine questions on the forming of Serbia as a country, its borders, territorial organization, population, economy, settlements and religious organization.

Learning Outcomes: Through lectures and labs students will learn to work with historical sources, to use them for the purposes of scientific historiography, and learn methods of historical-geographical research.
