Course objectives: Acquiring specialized knowledge necessary for the research of the economy from the 4th to the 9th century.

Course description: Theoretical course about the economic activities of early medieval population, based on discovered finds of tools and workshops, archaeological traces of commerce, coin finds etc., with special attention aimed toward the available written historical sources.
