Course objectives: Mastering the basic elements of grammar in the old church slavic language, the oldest literary language of the Slavs.

Course description: The Moravian mission of Cyril and Methodius and the creation of the oldest form of literary slavic language, writing the slavic alphabet(glagolitic and cyrilic, oldest canonical monuments of Old Church Slavic; phonetics- review of vowels, semi-vowels, nasal vowels, the letter 'yat'), voice mutations(three palatizations, iotation); morphology: general review of nouns, declensions in all three genders, types of verb bases, present, imperative, imperfect, personal pronouns.

Learning Outcomes: The ability to read, interpret and translate simple texts from canonical artifacts.
