Увод у студије британске културе (осн.) У оквиру предмета: Увод у студије британске културе
изборни курс Број бодова: 3.00 Садржај курса: Велика Британија – кратак историјски, географски и демографски преглед; представе и стереотипи; Енглеска, Шкотска, Велс и Северна Ирска; политички систем и спољна политика; проблеми идентитета; религија; образовни систем; доколица и спорт. Циљ изучавања курса: Упознавање са главним институцијама, начином живота, и културном баштином савременог британског друштва.
Предуслови за полагање: Наставу могу похађати сви студенти Филозофског факултета који су након IV семестра положили испитe из Eнглеског језика 1 и Eнглеског језика 2 са најмањом оценом осам (8). Облици наставе: Интерактивна предавања на енглеском језику уз пратећи визуелни материјал; дискусије у оквиру предавања; провера знања путем теста.

2. недеља предавање - Great Britain
А brief historical, demographic and geographical survey. |
3. недеља предавање - Great Britain
The notion of insularity; relations with Europe; images and stereotypes; attitudes towards others. |
4. недеља предавање - England
Тhe dominance of England; core and periphery; North-South divide. |
5. недеља предавање - Wales
А brief historical survey; relations with England; a contemporary picture of Wales; forms of expressing Welshness. |
6. недеља предавање - Scotland
А brief historical survey; problems of contemporary Scotland; the notion of "peripheral nationalism"; tartanry; Clydeism; Scotland in films. |
7. недеља предавање - Northern Ireland
a brief historical survey of Ireland and Northern Ireland; relations with England and Great Britain; the "Troubles". |
8. недеља предавање - Issues of Identity
definitions of identity; from personal to national identity; definitions of patriotism, nationalism, chauvinism. Attitudes towards Britishness, Englishness, Scotishness, Welshness, Irishness. Ethnic minorities. |

Тhe monarchy; the work of parliament; the main political parties; general elections. |
10. недеља предавање - Foreign Policy
Britain’s foreign policy dilemmas; the Commonwealth; Britain in Europe. |
11. недеља предавање - Education system
Primary, secondary and tertiary education; education reforms. |
12. недеља предавање - Religion in Britain
the Church of England; the other Christian Churches; other religions; the consequences of secularization. |
13. недеља предавање - Leisure and sport
typical leisure activities; the culture of sport; the problem of hooliganism. |
