Admission Requirements: An entrance condition for enrollment in a Bachelor’s study program is to have graduated full high school, approved entrance examination scores, and acceptance to study program. Rules for entrance examinations and admission are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute.

Transfer Regulations: Rules for transferring are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute. It is mandatory for a student to have the sufficient number of ECTS credits within the adequate study group allowing a student to transfer or take the differential exam.

Process of Studying:

A student that graduates with a Bachelor degree in History will accomplish and perform the following:

• Will acquire a system of knowledge about History as special scientific discipline; will acquire a system of knowledge about history of human society from ancient to modern times, including history of Serbian nation
• Will obtain capability of understanding and critical analysis of historical process and progression, occurrences and happenings during the development of human society throughout different epochs and areas, as well as the ability of comprehending significant and current political, social and cultural matters
• Will acquire the ability of applying gained knowledge in all potential professional fields concerning History, as well as developing and advancing personal professional skills within the process of continued education

Educational and Professional Goals: A Bachelor’s study program in History is oriented towards acquiring knowledge about the history of human society and about history as a scientific discipline, as well as towards developing abilities of understanding and critical thinking of historical process, occurrences and events scientifically based on historical perspective. The intention of the study program is to enable a student for further advancement of acquired knowledge and skills, and for applying the same in all professional activities, as well as towards forming an opinion about past and present political, social and cultural events and matters.

Course Selection / ECTS: The credit system at the Faculty of Philosophy conforms to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits. The study courses correspond to 3 – 11 ECTS credits forming units that correspond to 30 ECTS credits each. It is the credit accumulation system and corresponding grades of credits are allocated to subjects that form a part of the study program.

Admission Requirements: An entrance condition for enrollment in a follow-up Master’s study program is the completion of study in a Bachelor’s study program (240 ECTS credits). Rules for entrance examinations and admission are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute. A student applying for a Master’s study program with a Bachelor’s degree from a different study group will have to take the difference exam if necessary.

Transfer Regulations: Rules for transferring are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute. It is mandatory for a student to have the sufficient number of ECTS credits within the adequate study group allowing a student to transfer or take the differential exam.

Process of Studying:

A student that graduates with a Master degree in History will accomplish and perform the following:

• Will acquire scientifically and methodologically specific knowledge in particular History and History related disciplines necessary for enabling student for conducting independent research work
• Will obtain abilities for applying the acquired scientifically and methodologically specific knowledge and skills in creating and accomplishing the research work, and in satisfying professional responsibilities of a Master of History in concrete educational and cultural institutions
• Will acquire ability of presenting the results of the research work in oral form at the conventions, and in written form publishing them in scientific magazines and periodicals

Educational and Professional Goals: A Master’s study program in History is oriented towards scientifically and methodologically specific knowledge and skills in particular History and History related disciplines. The intention of the study program is to have a graduate student equipped with abilities for applying acquired knowledge and skills in performing professional responsibilities within educational and cultural institutions and programs, in conducting independent research study works, as well as in presenting the accomplishments in both oral and written form.

Course Selection / ECTS: The credit system at the Faculty of Philosophy conforms to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits. Each study course, either elective or compulsory, corresponds to 6 ECTS credits. The research study work in the second semester corresponds to 10 ECTS credits. It is the credit accumulation system and corresponding grades of credits are allocated to subjects that form a part of the study program.

Qualification Awarded: Doctor of History (Ph.D.)

Admission Requirements: An entrance conditions for enrolment in a follow-up Doctoral study program are the completion of study in a Master’s study program (300 ECTS credits), the average grade of 8.00 during Bachelor and Master’s study programs, or at least five published research studies in magazines of national and international recognition. The knowledge of at least one foreign language is mandatory as well. Rules for entrance examinations and admission are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute. A student applying for a Doctoral study program with a Master’s degree from a different study group will have to take the differential exam if necessary.

Access to Further Studies: The doctoral degree is the highest level of Serbian education system.

Educational and Professional Goals:

A Doctoral study program in History is oriented towards acquiring notable knowledge in particular History and History related disciplines specifically concerning the theoretical section of History, the knowledge necessary for following modern trends and developments within this social science. A student that graduates with a Doctoral degree in History will be equipped with abilities of applying acquired scientifically and methodologically specific knowledge and skills in satisfying professional responsibilities through independent research work in History and through work within institutions of higher education.

A graduate student with a Doctoral degree in History will become capable of independently conducting research study works concerning complex historical events and occurrences and social conditions they took place in, as well as capable of correctly understanding and precisely and scientifically evaluating the same using modern methodological approaches and postulates. The graduate student will become competent to independently perform research analysis, make appropriate conclusions and judgments, and present and publish the results within domestic and international scientific History related market. The Doctor of History will be enabled to independently assist in conducting domestic and international research projects offering proficient support while collaborating with History and History related experts, and to significantly provide towards the latest discoveries and findings in History, as well as towards greater understanding of different historical epochs, countries, societies, and cultures. The Doctor of History will become proficient in critically and independently analyzing and evaluating various historical phenomena, noticing possible methodological or professional errors and omissions, while asking numerous questions towards providing apposite scientifically based answers.

After accomplishing the Doctoral study program in History, the graduate student will become acquired with complete and extensive knowledge in particular History and History related disciplines, and the knowledge that will enable the graduate student to actively participate and contribute to: various scientific research projects, independent evaluation and solving scientifically-historical issues and concerns, independent formulation of research topics, and analysis of the same by means of the latest methodological postulates and tendencies utilized in History. The Doctor of History will be utterly accomplished to comprehend and apply the most complex methodological and theoretical novices in specific areas of History, while observing and perceiving the general and detailed development of the science, especially the sections concerning the increase of specific competence in particular History disciplines and topics. The graduate student will be competent to actively provide in most recent discoveries and findings pertaining to specific areas of interest, to independently utilize and share acquired knowledge and attained principles of scientific research work, and to make use of them and consume them within the wide spectrum of professional, educational and cultural activities and responsibilities.
