Course objectives: Using the comparative perspective, this course introduces students to post-feminist and postmodern influences in gender relations and the social status of women.

Course description: Critiques and taking another look at gender relations – gender & sex; feminist theory and the relation of gender-sex; a look at the current state of feminist ideas, practically and organizationally, present-day social status of women through a comparative perspective: legal aspects, economic-professional aspect, political aspects, cultural-communicational aspects, gender in contemporary postmodern families, the commercialization of intimacy and sexual gender-based practices, gender inter-relatedness and interaction.

Learning Outcomes: Students gain a deeper insight into gender issues and will be able to complete theoretical work on feminist activism.
