Pre-requisites: To successfully participate in this course, it is necessary for students to already have completed a couple required classes in sociology, most importantly general theory and historical overview courses. It will be helpful for students to know at least one foreign language.

Course objectives: The goal of this course if for students to gain knowledge about basic theoretical and ethical principles in teaching sociology; gain necessary skills for teaching and elementary experience (practice) in teaching high school level sociology, in order to independently conduct class.

Course description: This course can be divided into three thematic parts which approach the issue of methods in teaching sociology from three different angles: (a) broad social perspective, through examining the place of education within the greater social system; (b) localized, as a discipline, which will follow the development of sociology as a scientific and academic discipline and examines sociology's, as a discipline, impact on the educational system and (c) concrete operational perspective, which looks at the teaching & class process itself and the problems that accompany it.

Learning Outcomes: This course will show students how to independently teach Sociology class.
