Course objectives: Introducing students to various approaches to analyzing global social changes.

Course description: This course is structured around three themes: 1. basic concepts and approaches to the sociological study of globalization 2. global changes in major areas of social reality; 3. consequences of and perspectives on globalization.

Learning Outcomes: The ability to examine local events and happenings in the context of global social changes.
