Pre-requisites: To successfully participate in this course students need to have previous knowledge of sociological, anthropological, psychological and pedagogical ideas and methods.

Course objectives: The goal of this course is for students to become familiar with the basic issues of contemporary/modern childhoods and approaches to studying them.

Course description: Theoretical component: conceptualization and contextualization of childhood in time and space;specific conditions and problems of a present-day childhood; theoretical approaches; methods of studying childhoods; the status of children in Serbia. Practical component: analyzing texts, documents and data related to childhoods - problems and solutions.

Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to problematize questions related to childhood in present-day societies from a sociological and critical perspective. Students will have professional skills necessary for conducting research and field work with children in our surroundings & society.
