Course objectives: Understanding of the characteristics of physical, cognitive, emotional and social development in adolescence. Introduction to key open issues and contemporary theoretical approaches to psychology of adolescence.

Course description: The theoretical part covers the following topics: Behavioral genetics of adolescence; Puberty and psychological development; Cognitive development; Social relations in adolescence; Identity development; Emotional development; Problems in the behavior of adolescents; Advisory work with adolescents. The practical part consists in the discussion on the application of acquired knowledge in different professional and personal situations.

Learning Outcomes: Students will learn and understand the key characteristics of development during adolescence and the influence of family, peers, school and culture on the development. Students will learn to apply acquired knowledge in professional and personal situations.
