Pre-requisites: Precondition for the course attendance is that following courses are passed: Psychology of learning and teaching, assessment of cognitive abilities I and II, Evaluation of knowledge and educational outcomes.

Course objectives: School psychology is a course that enables students of psychology to understand the nature and complexity of the requirements set in the education system regarding the role of psychologists and to plane their professional role in accordance with these requirements.

Course description: 1. The role of psychologists in the education system: (a) a psychologist in preschool and school, (b) psychologist in special education, (c) psychologist in institutions for the development of education, (d) psychologist in the informal education; 2. Planning, programming and monitoring of education work; 3. Establishing cooperative relations: (a) cooperation with teachers, (b) cooperation with parents, (c) cooperation with institutions of importance for the educational and pedagogical work, (d) a psychologist as mediator; 4 Work with children / schoolchildren; 5. Research in Education; 6. Professional training of psychologists

Learning Outcomes: After this course students will acquire basic knowledge and skills needed for successful planning, programming and monitoring of education work, establishment of cooperative relations and realisation of researches in various educational institutions.
