Course objectives: Understanding the methodological and epistemological status of Adult Education; acquisition of basic concepts of adult education; understanding the philosophical, social and psychological dimensions of education for adults, understanding the education for adults as an individual and social phenomenon.

Course description: Theoretical course: Constitution of adult education/andragogy as a science. Conceptions of adult education. Education of adults as a social and individual phenomenon. Theories of the development of adults. Biological changes in adults. Cognitive changes. Adult learning – theories and models. Lifelong education concept. Adult education system. Educational needs and interests of adults. Participation in education for adults.

Learning Outcomes: Student: knows and understands the different conceptions of adult development, education and learning; understands the social and psychological dimensions of adult learning and education; understands the particularity of adult learning; understands the concept of lifelong education and its realization strategy.
