Pre-requisites:

Course objectives: Acquiring knowledge about emerging, developing, object of studies and tasks of health psychology. Acquiring of theoretical concepts and consideration of their applicability in practice in various medical disciplines. Providing insight to relevant ethical issues.

Course description: Theoretical classes: 1. Roots, origin, development and future of health psychology. 2. Definitions, tasks and models in health psychology.3. Current research in health psychology and the biological basis of health and disease.4. Stress, illness and overcoming. 5. Behaviors and lifestyles that affect the promotion / destruction of health and primary prevention. 6. Chronic illnesses and life threatening diseases (AIDS and cancer). 7. Psycho-oncology - the formation, current trends and future developments in this scientific discipline. 8. Psychological aspects of terminal conditions. 9. Communication nurses-patients at different levels of health care (primary health care, secondary health care) and during the hospitalization 10. Pain and pain cropping. Practical classes: Practice, Other forms of teaching, study research, Independent processing and presentation of in the area of choice with the assistance of teachers in the selection of literature.

Learning Outcomes: Gaining insight into current levels of development and the possibilities of further development of health psychology, important for better understanding and application of theoretical knowledge in performing research and conducting daily psychological practice in the various fields.
