Course objectives: Students will get introduced to the basic issues and current debates in contemporary philosophy of science and they will be trained for independent research in the area.

Course description: Major problems in contemporary philosophy of science. Most general issues to be discussed are rationality, progress, scientific discovery, realism and antirealism, Duhem's thesis, metaphysical and social influences on the content of scientific theories and other important issues.

Learning Outcomes: Students should write a serious and original seminar papers (which will eventually be released), and through which students will be evaluated.
