Course objectives: Training the students in the critical and careful reading of the philosophical texts and in the understanding of the philosophical problems and arguments. Both student questions and class discussions are encouraged.

Course description: This course is the critical interpretation of the most fundamental aspects of Plato’s philosophy, from his early and middle to late dialogues, with a focus on Plato’s Theory of Forms and his ethical reflections. Special attention is given to the careful and critical reading his most significant and influential dialogue the Republic.
