Course objectives: To acquaint students with fundamental topics and issues in the philosophy of education, such as, for example, What should be the purpose and goals of education? Who should be educated and what kind of education should one receive? Should education be adapted to natural interests of each individual or should it be the same for everyone? What role should the state play in the educational process?

Course description: In this course we examine the most influential educational ideas starting from Plato to contemporary educational theories.

Learning Outcomes: Students will develop the ability to critically examine the role of education in personal development as well as in the progress of society as a whole.
