Course objectives: Mastering the general knowledge about developmental and educational factors of complete personality. Understanding the essence of intellectual, moral, aesthetic and physical education. Training for critical analysis of different theoretical standpoints about personality education.

Course description: Theoretical course: Education and personality. Development of complete personality as an educational goal. The relation between education, learning and development. Theoretical foundations of cognition and education. The essence and tasks of intellectual education. Intellectual development and educational theories. Phases of intellectual development and education. Motivation and intellectual education. School programmes, intellectual development and education. Basic problems and approaches in defining the concept of moral education. Moral development and moral education. Moral education – goals – norms – values. Social and individual foundations of moral education. Methods and means in moral education. Art and aesthetic education. Modern theories of aesthetic education. School programmes and aesthetic education. The essence and tasks of physical and health education. Methods and means of physical education. Physical education and school. Practical course: Analysis of educational goals, contents, methods and means. School programme analysis from the perspective of complete personality development.

Learning Outcomes: Profound knowledge about basic development and educational personality problems, the capacity for understanding and critically reviewing the different theories of intellectual, moral, aesthetic and physical education.
