Educational policy in early childhood education (master)

Pre-requisites: -

Course objectives: Consideration of key issues in the domain of the policy of preschool education and care from different perspectives with emphasis on child wellbeing.

Course description: Origins of social care for children and early childhood education and care: Developmental Perspective; a Political and Economic Perspective; a Social and cultural Perspective; a Human rights Perspective. Social care and early childhood education focused on wellbeing of the child. Educational policy in early childhood education: Contemporary Issues. The rights of parents and the right of child: family and public education. Approaches of educational policy to quality of early childhood education. Practical exercises: analysis of legislative-normative regulations; critical reading with presentation and discussion, program development

Learning Outcomes: Students understand the issues and factors which shape the policy of preschool education and social care for children and are capable for critical analysis, research and constructive involvement in the development of policy and practice of ECE.
