Course objectives: A critical rethinking and understanding of the relationship of play, arts and education; understanding of methodological research approach of education based on play and art(s).

Course description: Art, play and education as cultural artifacts. Art, play and education in postmodernism: education by play and art as culture sharing. Children participation in culture through play and art. Education by play and art: holistic approach to education. Theory of learning and education by play and art. Reconceptualization of concepts self-expression, originality and uniqueness. Dimensions "excellence" of education by play and art. Programme of early childhood education based on play and art. Adults in programmes of early childhood education based on play and art. Postmodern versus modern approach to research: Research based on art as interactive design of theory and practice of education. Educational research based on art: purpose, structure, methodology. Hermeneutics and issues of interpretation in educational research based on play and art.

Learning Outcomes: Students understand the principles and dimensions of education by play and art; are capable to design research of education based on play and art; are capable of designing model of education by play and art.
