Anthropology of the world: globalization and multiculturalism

Pre-requisites: No specific requirements. Common requirements as defined in the Statute, regulations, etc.

Course objectives: The goal is to acquaint the students with contemporary anthropological studies of global processes and phenomena, as well as the more specific field’s of trans-nationalism and multiculturalism.

Course description: Introduction to the anthropology of globalization. Introduction to Anthropology of multiculturalism. Glocal phenomena. Ethnic Relations. Contemporary anthropological studies of the relevant phenomena.

Learning Outcomes: A student who successfully completes the course will be trained to carry out theoretical and field research and glocal global processes and phenomena in the fields of politics, ethnic relations, cultural transformation, law and public policy, in the media and as a consultant.
