Course objectives: Acquainting students with the most important writers and types of Greek and Roman literature - making of literary theoretical, literary historical and literary critical knowledge and preparation of students for independent dealing with literary work.

Course description: The course consists of two parts which are supposed to be taken during two semesters: 1. History of Classical literature, 2. Basics of theory of Classical literature.

Learning Outcomes: The purpose of this course is to enable students for critical reading of works of Classical literature and to acquire basic knowledge in the theory of Greek and Roman literature.
