Course objectives: Acquainting student with basic problems concerning Ancient rhetoric, its historical development and relation towards Serbian rhetorical theory and practice; Relation of rhetoric to related disciplines; Enabling students to make orations according rhetorical rules, and to recognize by analysis basic rhetorical elements in literary texts.

Course description: History and theoretical aspects of Ancient rhetoric, relation of Greek and Roman rhetoric, History of Serbian rhetoric and its relation to Antic; rhetoric, poetic, aesthetic, stylistics and literary critic.

Learning Outcomes: Students are enabled to do independent research paper in area of Ancient literature, national literature of European peoples of modern times; The ability to study comparatively literature along diachronic and synchronic line.
