Pre-requisites: Passed exam in Historical grammar of Latin language I and two courses in Historical grammar of Latin language II on 4th year of studies.

Course objectives: Filling in and widening the knowledge acquired on Historical grammar of Latin language I, which is an obligatory course on 3rd year of studies, and also on elective courses on 4th year of studies.

Course description: Latin language as language of peasants, military and law, language of the oldest state letters, of the oldest engravings; writing and pronunciation, influence on the daily speech basis, the influence of Greek poetry on early Latin poets and dramatics, the influence of the Neo-antic comedy on Latin comedy, the language of Latin literary prose, Anticism-Asianitism.

Learning Outcomes: Students are acquainting with the phases of development of Latin language. The emphasis is put on the period of development or literary type student wishes to deal with in his final thesis.
