Pre-requisites: Enrolled to 1st and 2nd semester in Classical studies.

Course objectives: Acquiring knowledge in cultural history of Antiquity; The part of the course concerning speciality enables students to do professional papers (seminary paper and diploma thesis).

Course description: General part: Religion, ceremonies, holidays; theater and plays in Greek and Rome; Mythology - most important myths and their connection to literature; Calculating the time; Everyday life; Specialistic part: philology and education in Antiquity; material and form of book; rewriting the manuscripts in Antiquity and Middle age; .... ; types of literary and epigraphic letter; Modern text critic; Critical publications; Students make presentations independently; class disscution.

Learning Outcomes: Enabling student to understand Ancient cultures, history and literature.
