Pre-requisites: Passed exams in two antique languages (greek/latin/old slavonic) and from the subjects – Additional historical sciences and Comparative Diplomacy 1

Course objectives: Mastering techniques for publishing documents as the third level of practical techniques used for working with diplomatic and other written texts from the middle ages, which will enable students to conduct scientific research on the subject.

Course description: After reviewing the demands made by contemporary diplomacy related to publishing materials, this course will present the necessary steps for diplomatic analysis of material from the middle ages by using examples and texts from a full spectrum of relevant sister sciences (diplomacy, paleography, chronology, sphragistics) and other tools for critically looking at sources.

Learning Outcomes: Learned methodological and technological knowledge and skills for publishing critical editions of material on diplomacy in the middle ages within the scope of large project editions of texts.
