The Serbs under foreign rule during the 19th and beginning of the 20th century

Pre-requisites: Grade average of 8.0 or higher during undergraduate studies

Course objectives: To gain knowledge of the the history of the serbian people under the Habsburg monarchy and Ottoman empire.

Course description: Life and organization of Serbs in the Ottoman Empire and Habsburg Monarchy: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbian and Macedonia, Novi Pazar region, southern Hungary, Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia; fight for religious(church) and national autonomy and the recognition of serbians as their own ethnic entity, political organization; persecution of the serbs and migrations.

Learning Outcomes: Working with historical sources, detecting important issues and methodologically addressing them, critical approach to sources, learning to independently produce scientific and research works
