Pre-requisites: The lectures and in-class interactive activities attendance is mandatory.

Course objectives: The goal of the course is to get students introduced with the beginnings, development and trends of art in the XVII century and the first half of the XVIII century while perceiving the artistic designs and creations in their theoretical, cultural and social context, and comprehending the most important phenomena and pieces from this epoch.

Course description: The content of the course is focused on process of comprehending fundamental principles and values of European art and culture of the specified period. This process also includes students acquiring knowledge and understanding about art creations from the particular period of time via literature, museum collections, field and on-site activities, and electronic data basis.

Learning Outcomes: The course is designed to ascertain the most important phenomena and pieces of art of baroque and rococo epochs.
