History

At the beginning of the twentieth century, between the years of 1905 and 1930, the Sub-department of Ancient History and the Sub-department of Classical Languages were structured within one Seminar and had shared the same library. Upon the division of sub-departments, the Ancient History Seminar Library, whose foundation was greatly expanded with special thanks to Professor Nikola Vulić and Professor Fanula Papazoglu, was established in 1930.

Collections

Today, the library collection counts up to approximately 19,500 monographs and regular periodicals, majority of which are old and rare volumes. The above mentioned legacies of Professor Nikola Vulić and Professor Fanula Papazoglu are especially treasured, as well as the books and journals belonging to the ‘Fanula Papazoglu’ Centre for Antique Epigraphy and Numismatics.

The search within the collections is possible via an alphabetical authors' and subject catalogues.
