Requirements for the preparation of doctoral thesis

Course description: A doctoral thesis is the product of scientific research, historiographical examination, study, analytical and critical discussion and inference, that ultimately result in the original scientific work. Writing the thesis is preceded by a research study, research with a view to writing the doctoral thesis, careful selection and defence of the thesis topic. Then the candidate writes the doctoral thesis which has the following general structure: a) Introduction, which consists of historiographical and methodological discussion and b) Main discussion, which examines, theoretically and practically, the selected topic – subject of research, analysis, critic and inference, within the selected and explained interpretative method; Conclusions; Literature review; List of enclosed reproductions; if necessary, other type of appendix (biographies of the artists, chronology, subject index and the like).
