Pre-requisites: The student has to be enrolled in undergraduate studies in History of Art and must have passed exams for the specialised courses taken in the third year of study.

Course objectives: Preparing students for work in education, for teaching independently, applying methods of teaching Art History or Visual Arts, using textbooks and preparing didactic material.

Course description: Methodology of teaching as a science. Tasks and the essence of visual arts. Fundamentals and elements of teaching visual arts, from preparation and organization of teaching, to methods of teaching and evaluation of the results. Teaching History of Art in primary and secondary schools; writing term papers and theses; studying textbooks, preparing manuals and didactic material; passing professional examinations.

Learning Outcomes: Ability to introduce school children to the development of art and the conceptions of a work of art in a historical context, as well as the capacity for encouraging students to develop independent aesthetic evaluation, artistic expression and creative thinking.
